Team Line Up.

Monica Ferreira

“High school was a tough time for a lot of people—including myself—and by the end of it, I could not wait to move to Toronto, a city filled with millions of cool people and alongside that, millions of opportunities. I was ready to forget about my past, and create a new life for myself here. My first two years at Ryerson though, have been much different than I expected. While I did meet some great people, I know there is so much I have yet to accomplish. Here at Day One, we hope to create opportunities to make real life, life long connections by creating an environment that is fun and easy to socialize in”.

Kevin Luke

“Over the past few years I’ve been asked pretty often how it’s so easy for me to connect with new people. Truth is… it isn’t. Or, at least it wasn’t. Being sociable didn’t come naturally to me at all, I pushed myself like it was my job. But having done that, I know there’s a better way. Establishing those first few ideal connections is always the hardest part, so that became my area of focus: encouraging people to make a habit of creating and optimizing opportunities of mutual benefit. From there the snowball effect kicks in”.

Michelle Ferreira

“Growing up with a twin sister I always felt like I had to try extra hard to be memorable as my own person. I was really shy growing up, I didn’t want to go out and meet new people. But at university I promised to push myself to more be outgoing. It was hard at first, but once I found people I clicked with it suddenly became second nature. It sounds cheesy, but now I’m a total social butterfly, and I’m dedicated to helping other people open up as well”.

Sarah Iranca

“When I came to university I had the idea that I’d meet tons of new people and join a bunch of clubs and have a solid group of friends after the first few weeks. Turns out it wasn’t like the movies at all. I know there’s plenty of people feeling the same way, we just need that push, so let’s get it”.
